Aiguines by bike

Aiguines is a charming autentic village perché (perched village) on the hillside left bank of Les Gorges du Verdon (Verdon Grand Canyon) offering an exceptional view on the Lac de Sainte Croix (its stunning deep turquoise color is best seen in the morning when the sun shines from east to west).

Aiguines is the last refill (liquid and solid) village if you plan to cycle the Verdon Grand Canyon on its left bank i.e towards the Col d'Illoire. You will find nice restaurants and grocery stores too, and the fountain (centre square) flows with clean water to fill your bottles.
Off season when restaurant are closed it means almost 40km in a gorgeous but potentially hostile desert-like landscape before you reach Comps sur Artuby.

If it is peak summer season and you want to blow your mind, hit the road at crack of dawn to keep away from rush hour tourism (motorbikes, car and also campers too wides for these small twisty mountain roads).
Otherwise, from snowmelt (usually April) to June and from October to first snowfalls (maybe December) all the roads around are law traffic, demanding but unforgettable.
